PROJECT TORAH
While we will later stress the importance of Torah learning itself in the role of outreach, we must not forget that the most important and vital of all is the furtherance of Jewish education through learning Torah. Therefore, we will split up PROJECT TORAH into two seperate categories; classes and chavrutot (study partners)
Classes: Are you a good public speaker? Have you ever wanted to teach yet never knew if people would attend?
OR San Diego is here to help! Anyone who meets the requirements discussed in the "About Us" section, is encouraged to give classes as often as they are able to, whether it be once, weekly, monthly etc., through OR San Diego's Project Torah. Classes may include, for example, areas of Jewish learning such as Tanach, Talmud, Halacha, Chassidut, Mussar, etc. and will be posted online on our classes page.
Study Partner/Group : Have you ever wanted to review something you have learned, yet never found the oppurtunity to do so? Have you ever wanted to learn Torah one-one-one or in a small, personal group, but just couldn't find anyone interested?
OR San Diego has the solution for you! Just submit to us what you would like to learn, and we will match you with someone who shares the same interest. We encourage anyone who wants to learn to please contact us and join Project Torah!
What should I learn? We recommend books that currently have Hebrew-English editions in print, such as Tanach, Talmud, Kitzur Shulchan Aruch (Code of Jewish Law), the books of the Ramchal (Messilat Yesharim - The Path of the Just and Derech Hashem - The Way of G-d) etc. If you are looking for something specific, or just want ideas, please feel free to contact us, and an OR staff member will be more than happy to assist you.
